Free will

Humans have free will, and many are choosing to live in the dark ages. Some people say they have no choice, that they are being forced to change beliefs and religions. True. Things have a way of sneaking up on people, people that are asleep and prefer to be that way. When we are slow to choose things in life...choices are made for us, that too is freewill.

  1. i've seen, read and have been guilty of the free will dilemma many of times in the past. even though i have the answers to the test, doesn't mean that i can remember to pull out the crib sheet all of the time... in all reality, if you have the answers you really shouldn't need a crib sheet. some things just fall back to programming and you end up using that as the excuse to why this or that decision is made, forgetting that you can hack and override your own program at any time. just need the "free will" to do so.

  2. hi lou, are the religious leaders/clerics that demand sharia law are literally renegade creatures in human body?

  3. Kutu, the leaders and clerics are only doing their jobs. No one is totally free in this world but some people don't need or want any freedoms...and don't think others should have any freedoms either. Being told when and how to pray, how to dress, what you can or can't eat, how to think, etc. Millions of people prefer someone else do the thinking for them.

  4. and that's the stink of it, eh? cannot even begin to explain the daily battles i have in my head concerning everything. always second, third guessing everything, i mean you know what is right and wrong for the most part, its just the justification i find myself attempting to use to say this or that is okay, almost like always being stagnant, stuck in the mud of a corridor in a mental maze. of my own creating that is...

  5. Scott, that's why there are so many religions and philosophies to take the sting out of pondering so many things on your own. They let you do the basic requirements and let the chips fall where they might. Few people know anything about the religions and other beliefs they end up settling for and only follow or belong for extraneous reasons, something to do, people to hang out with, or they are intimidated into joining the religious club. Life's mysteries are too much for humans to handle and therefore ignored by most people...by design.

It's a perfect sting operation that catches equally those who think they are righteous and the obvious wicked in its web. Agonizing over what is right is not a bad thing even if it seems futile.
